ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES OF COMMUNITY DEPARTMENT

Undergraduate  –  Clinicosocial postings in 3rd (45 days) – everyday in the morning for one or two batches. and 6th semesters(1month)  . For first clinical years, family survery – 6 families/student, 50 students/ batch totally 300 households. Data collected, analysed and presented in 2-3weeks after the survey. Students are sensitized to UHC, PHC, RHC and District Nodal Centers like DTC, DMO’s Office, DLO’s Office. Students do seminar every Saturday in subjects related to Enviornmental health and Sociology under the supervision of faculty

PostGraduate -  Self directed learning is a theme for PG education. They do online distant courses in Health economics, epidemiology, health research fundamentals, specific diseases like Tuberculosis and Mental health. Participate actively in organizing and teaching UG’s in doing clinicosocial studies, computing and statistical analysis. They participate in State conferences, National Conferences where they present papers attend preconference workshops and other workshops in Centers of Excellence like CMC, Vellore, NIE, Chennai, MGIMS, Wardha, PGIMER, Chandigarh, etc. In addition, they are given opportunities to do seminar and Journal club on alternate weeks. And they also participate actively in conducting workshop on MET and Research methodology workshop for new PG’s

63rd Annual National conference of IPHA organized by Rangaraya medical college, Kakinada from Jan 31st – Feb 3rd 2019.

Four CMEs under the ages of NTRUHS were conducted at GSL Rajahmundry, Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada, MIMS Vizianagaram, KIMS Amalapuram. Around 30 postgraduates have attended all the CMEs. Postgraduates take an active part in organising the departmental activities like community postings, teaching activities, CMEs for postgraduates and student activities like rallies.
