HISTORY OF PREVENTIVE DEPARTMENT
The department of Community Medicine at Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada, was started in the year 1960 with Dr. M. Vallabha Rao as the first Head of the department. Post-graduation in Community Medicine was started in the 1980, with 1 MD seat allotted to the department. In the year 2009, the number of MD seats was increased to 3. This year, i.e., 2019, the DPH seat has been converted to MD, making it 4 MD Community Medicine seats for the department.
